Fernando Fernandez Vega

Fernando Fernandez passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 14, 1950, Fernando lived a life defined by dedication to family, passion for his craft, and an enduring love of sports. Fernando was a devoted father to six children—four sons and two daughters: Patricia, Fernando, Eduardo, Juan, Janet, and Richard. He was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy. He is also lovingly remembered by his son-in-law, Jose Martinez, and his daughters-in-law, Lore, Marie, Larie, and Susie. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Patricia, who passed away at just three months old, and by his cherished wife, who passed on October 12, 2003. Fernando’s early life was marked by hardship and instability. He grew up surrounded by physical abuse and chaos, but through courage and love, his mother made the difficult decision to leave her husband in pursuit of a safer, more stable life for her family. These early experiences shaped Fernando’s resilience, strength, and deep appreciation for family and peace. For more than 65 years, Fernando worked as a horologist, a profession that was far more than a career—it was his lifelong passion. He remained devoted to the art and precision of timekeeping until his final days, taking great pride in his skill, patience, and craftsmanship. In his younger years, Fernando was an athlete who enjoyed playing soccer in amateur leagues and also participated in boxing. His love of sports continued throughout his life. A devoted fan, he rarely missed a locally televised game. His heart belonged to Necaxa, his favorite Mexican soccer team, and the Los Angeles Lakers, whom he followed with unwavering enthusiasm. Fernando also found great joy in simpler pleasures, especially playing card games and dominoes. These games were a cherished part of family gatherings, where laughter, friendly competition, and connection filled the room—moments his loved ones will always treasure. Fernando will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his unmatched work ethic, and his passionate spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and time well spent—both in the moments he shared with others and the countless hours he devoted to his craft.
